To Pay or Not to Pay: A Guide to Software Pricing
To pay or not to pay? If you're just starting a business on a low budget and experimenting with what works best for you, it's best to start cheap or free. The reason I say this is because you may only need a few things that a software provides, not the whole bundle or suite. However, if you receive value from a software application (i.e. it helps you in some way), you can expect that you'll have the opportunity to pay something at some point. Every software company (with the exception of some open-source solutions) needs to make money, and just because something is free doesn't mean it is good. I'm thinking back to that free piece of low-quality pepperoni pizza at the club meeting in college...
